Serve with Liberty: Plant Trees, Harvest Happiness

MAY 2024 – We took a big step towards a greener future by teaming up with EcoKnights for the “Plant Trees, Harvest Happiness” initiative, a proud part of our Serve with Liberty program, bringing together 606 enthusiastic volunteers for the community effort. During this period, our dedicated team planted 1,100 Rhizophora mucronata mangrove trees, underscoring our commitments to environmental stewardship and collective action.
This initiative not only contributed to the preservation of vital ecosystems but also fostered a sense of community and shared purpose among our employees. At Liberty, we are not just planting trees, we are sowing the seed of happiness, one sapling at a time.

Membership with United Nation Global Compact Network Malaysia and Brunei (UNGCMYB)

Liberty Insurance’s Book Donation Drive

AUGUST 2024 – Liberty successfully launched our Book Donation Drive in collaboration with AmBank and Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO) to collect books for distribution to underprivileged students who need them. This will help students, who otherwise might not have the resources, in their pursuit of knowledge.
For this initiative, our generous employees came together to contribute and assemble an incredible collection of books.. These books were delivered to FINCO for distribution across schools in Malaysia.

Financial Literacy for Future Generations Program

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Initiative, Liberty partnered with Financial Industry Collective Outreach (FINCO) to launch the Financial Literacy for Future Generations program. The objective was to empower and educate secondary school students on financial budgeting and insurance.
Our employees actively volunteered in workshops held across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia, engaging with students through interactive activities and discussions.

Over 170 students across different schools participated in the Financial Literacy Program, where they learned essential money management skills under our volunteers’ guidance:

  • SEPTEMBER 2024 – SMK Pandan Mewah, Selangor
  • OCTOBER 2024 – SMK Valdor, Penang
  • NOVEMBER 2024 – SMK Taman Tun Fuad, Sabah

With more workshops planned for other branches, we hope to continue building awareness of financial literacy among the younger generation.

CSR Initiative: An Uninterrupted Christmas to Remember

DECEMBER 2024 – Last Christmas, we brought joy to the community with a special initiative at Rumah Victory Elderly Home and Rumah Victory Children and Youth Home. Our festive truck, adorned with Christmas decorations and music, traveled around town with Santa Claus onboard, delivering gifts and essential items to bring holiday cheer to the elderly and children.

Our volunteers played a key role, spending meaningful time with the residents, sharing laughter and creating unforgettable memories for the old folks and children alike. This initiative gave us a chance to bring happiness, meet essential needs and spread the warmth of togetherness to those who needed it most.

Making an Impact Together: Supporting the National Kidney Foundation (NKF)

DECEMBER 2024 – Thanks to our Zakat contributors, we are aiding the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), an organisation dedicated to providing subsidised dialysis treatments for underprivileged patients, in acquiring essential medical equipment to ensure patients have continued access to lifesaving care.
Zakat Wakalah is more than just a charitable contribution – it enables organisations to give back to the society by amplifying the positive impact we can create. By channeling these funds into meaningful causes like NKF, we fulfill our responsibility to uplift underprivileged communities and create lasting change.
