Following the recent announcement by the Ministry of Finance to introduce Service Tax, Liberty Insurance Berhad will begin to collect the 6% Service Tax from 1 September 2018, being the implementation date of the Service Tax under the Service Tax Act 2018. Berikutan pengumuman baru-baru ini oleh Kementerian Kewangan untuk memperkenalkan Cukai Perkhidmatan, Liberty Insurance Berhad akan mula mengutip Cukai Perkhidmatan 6% mulai 1 September 2018, iaitu tarikh pelaksanaan Cukai Perkhidmatan di bawah Akta Cukai Perkhidmatan 2018. In order to measure the customer service levels in the industry based on the Customer Service Charter (CSC), Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the insurance industry has engaged Nielsen Malaysia (http://www.nielsen.com/my) to conduct a survey. The survey will be ongoing from 2 July - 7 September 2018.

The Fraud Intelligence System (FIS) was launched by Insurance Services Malaysia Berhad (ISM) in October 2017. By pooling together industry data, FIS takes a data science approach to fraud detection. It offers insurers and takaful operators a bigger picture to access claims holistically in order to detect potential fraud. Suspicious claims can be detected more quickly and efficiently, and similarly it will be easier to identify genuine claimants as well.
